Vietcong" terá uma primeira continuação. O jogo, como o nome sugere, se passa durante a guerra do Vietnã, mais precisamente no ano de 1968, na passagem conhecida como "Ofensiva Tet".
Durante um cessar fogo, você viverá o papel de um capitão das forças americanas, que escoltará um repórter na cidade de Hue durante as festividades de final de ano, a "Tet" dos vietnamitas. E em meio a tudo isso, a guerra explode.
Essa é a campanha normal. A exemplo do jogo anterior, é possível jogar a história do lado dos Vietnamitas. Mas não será possível jogar contra os EUA. Você lutará também contra vietcongs, mas vietgongs do sul.
Tanto do lado americano quanto do vietcong, seu objetivo final, passando por catorze cenários, é a retomada do Palácio Imperial. São mais de 50 armas reproduzidas fielmente, e as batalhas e localidades são todas inspiradas na história real.
O modo multijogador, que suporta até 64 jogadores, tem algumas peculiaridades, como a possibilidade de se utilizar veículos. Também há mais personagens para se escolher nesta modalidade.
